Consortium Representatives of the TransLearnN Project Participated in a NATO Workshop on Energy Security

As part of the “Transformational Learning Network for Resilience” (TransLearnN) project, representatives from the partner universities of the consortium – the National Transport University and Zhytomyr Polytechnic – took part in a significant international event aimed at capacity building for a new generation of scientists.

From October 8 to 16, 2024, Budapest hosted the Advanced Study Institutes (ASI) workshop titled “Capacity Building for a New Generation of Scientists in Energy Security and Climate Neutrality.” This event was organized under NATO’s “Science for Peace and Security” program, in collaboration with:

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME, Hungary)
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
The primary aim of ASI was to consolidate young scientists to tackle issues related to energy security and climate neutrality on both global and regional levels.

Representing the TransLearnN project consortium at the event were:

Viktoriia Khrutba (National Transport University) and Iryna Kotsiuba-Patseva (Zhytomyr Polytechnic)
The workshop program included:

Six thematic sections
Lectures and presentations from 49 leading speakers from NATO and partner countries
Constructive experience-sharing discussions
A unique lecture by European Commission representative Lea Sophie Vink
During the event, participants:

Exchanged advanced expertise in energy security
Discussed climate neutrality issues
Initiated new international partnerships
Explored opportunities for future joint projects and grant programs
Participation in this workshop fully aligns with the objectives of the TransLearnN project, which aims to:

Strengthen the social and political leadership role of Ukrainian universities
Establish an interdisciplinary educational network
Implement innovative approaches in teaching and applied research
Support Ukraine’s sustainable transformation
This event marked an important step in enhancing international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the areas of energy efficiency, energy security, and technologies for achieving climate neutrality.
